Allegorithmic today

Allegorithmic is a company created in 2003 by Sébastien Deguy. He’s today the world leader in 3D texturing thanks to his software Substance. Most video game developers around the world use it. Video game enthusiasts will find the legacy of Allegorithmic in Assassin’s Creed or Call of Duty. Allegorithmic employs over 110 people, half of whom in Clermont-Ferrand.

Its flagship product ? “Substance”, a twofold software application :

  • Based on unique technology that helps to improve productivity and creativity in the creation of realistic textures.
  • Used by 95% of video game developers around the world, the main animated film studios and for the design and architecture of luxury products.

PBR – Physically-Based Rendering, procedural textures, scan-based texturing: Allegorithmic’s technology is “non destructive” and makes it possible to work at low resolution and then to calculate at high resolution, or even to go back to the creation process at any time to change settings without having to do everything again. This means a huge amount of time is saved for artists who can then iterate extremely quickly.
