Innovation ecosystem

Innovating in Clermont: self-evident

Major clients, startups, universities and schools, laboratories and R&D centers, competitiveness clusters, incubators and accelerators: a multitude of stakeholders of every size actively work together within Clermont Auvergne Métropole in a drive towards progress and innovation to serve the growth and competitiveness of companies.
Historic birthplace of international industrial powerhouses, among which Michelin, Limagrain, Aubert et Duval, Clermont Métropole benefits from an agile partner ecosystem with the French Tech label and covering the whole innovation chain.

Of a human size in a protected environment with accessible, open spaces, the Clermont territory is fertile ground for taking initiatives and developing new individual or group projects.

Competitiveness clusters

A dozen or so competitiveness clusters provide support for large-scale projects, joint drivers and the vision of economic players in the territory by increasing the bridges between enterprise and research, research that has a label at national level for its scientific excellence.

Incubators and accelerator

Five incubators and an accelerator are on hand to serve project promoters and work together to encourage risk-taking, creativity and the emergence of fresh and original projects, irrespective of the kind of innovation, be it technological, social, organizational, digital and so forth.

New forms of cooperation

Within this ebullient ecosystem, new forms of cooperation and experimentation challenge the development of public and private actors so as to support their growth, encourage their resilience or increase their competitiveness.

Spotlight on innovation

Because ongoing discussion and breaking down the boundaries are essential to innovation, every year for the past two years, Clermont Innovation Week spotlights everyone who makes Clermont Métropole a land of innovation through a rich, varied, cutting edge program that is also fun and based on meetings, demos and exhibitions.
